If you register at our new forum, you will have a chance to fill out a “profile” for yourself. In the profile you can select an avatar to be placed next to any article you write in the forum.
An avatar is simply a thumbnail image. Can be of a real person, can be a cartoon, can even be animated.
The best way to find free avatars is simply to do a search for “free avatars” and then begin searching. And searching, and searching…
But wait ! Here is a nice, free site for forum avatars: http://wavatars.com gives you access to a fairly nice number of images, although today they seem to be having trouble with google ads covering part of their web site. Hopefully it is a “today only” problem because it is hard to find a site like theirs that doesn’t require you to sign in or face down a number of pop-up ads.
Avatars are not required. You can post in the forum without even registering. However, avatars do make the conversations a bit more fun. And couldn’t we all use a little more fun?
